This policy covers this website, and nothing else. The apps listed here are separate things with separate promises, and each one has its own policy linked from its own page. The difference in one line: this website counts its visitors, the way most websites do, and the apps do not. They are free, they run on your own machine, and they report to nobody. That is rather the point of them.

The short version

codekp.com is where I put the things I have built. It lists them, explains what each one does, and points you at the place you can get it. To know whether any of it lands, I count visits with Google Analytics, and a small notice asks you before any of that starts. Until you agree, nothing is saved on your device and nothing is sent to Google. There is no account system here, no comment section, nothing to buy and no advertising, and I do not sell anything about you to anybody.

What Google Analytics sees

If you agree to be counted, a Google Analytics tag runs in your browser and reports the visit. What it sends is the ordinary shape of web analytics:

Which page you opened, and which link or search sent you to it
Roughly where in the world you are, at about the level of a city
Your device type, screen size, browser, operating system and language
How long you stayed, and where you went next within the site

Your approximate location is worked out from your IP address, which Google does not store as part of the data. Nothing here asks for your name or your email, so nothing like that is collected. What I actually see are counts: how many people opened a page this week, and which app they went looking at. I cannot pick an individual out of that, and I have no interest in trying.

Google processes this on my behalf and may do so on servers outside your country. Their side of it is covered by Google's privacy policy.

It is not used for advertising

The tag is set up with Google's advertising features switched off, so your visit is counted for my own curiosity and is not fed into ad targeting or audience building. This site carries no adverts and never will.

If you would rather not be counted

Press Only necessary on the notice. That is a no to counting visits, it is remembered so you are not pestered on the next page, and nothing loads on any later visit either. Every page, every demo and every download works exactly the same whichever way you answer.

You can change your mind at any time, in either direction.

Away from this site, any content blocker or browser tracking protection will stop the tag as well, and Google publishes an official opt-out add-on if you would rather settle it once for every site you visit.

What is stored on your device

Your theme choice, saved in your browser's local storage under codekp-theme, so the site stays in daylight or lamplight the way you left it. It is a single word and it never leaves your browser.
Your answer about counting, saved under codekp-analytics, so the notice knows not to ask again. It is the word yes or the word no.
Google Analytics cookies, named _ga and one beginning _ga_, and only if you agreed. They hold a random ID so that two pages you open a minute apart are counted as one visit rather than two strangers, and nothing personal. Changing your answer to no deletes them.

That is the entire list, and clearing your browsing data for this site removes all of it.

Live demos on app pages

Some app pages run a working demo of the app inside the page, so you can try it without installing anything. Whatever you open in one of those demos is read by your own browser and is never uploaded, because there is no server here that could receive it. Anything a demo saves is kept in your browser's storage on your own device, and clearing your browsing data for this site removes it. The analytics tag runs on the page around a demo and not inside it, so it records that the page was visited and has no way of seeing the file you opened. What a particular demo does in detail is covered by that app's own policy.

Getting the apps

The apps are not handed out by this website. They are published through their proper channels, which for a Chrome extension means the Chrome Web Store, and the source code sits on GitHub for anyone who would rather read it or build it themselves. The moment you follow one of those links you are on their ground and their privacy policies apply, not mine. What an app does once it is installed is described in that app's own policy, and the counting described on this page does not travel into it.

Hosting and server logs

The site is served as static files by Cloudflare Pages. Like essentially every web server, that provider may keep short-lived technical logs of requests, which can include IP addresses, for the purposes of serving traffic and preventing abuse. I do not use those logs to build any profile of you. Cloudflare Web Analytics may also be enabled later; that counts visits without cookies and without waiting on the cookie notice. Google Analytics still only runs if you accept cookies.

Fonts

The site loads its typefaces from Google Fonts, which means your browser makes a request to fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com when a page opens. Those requests are subject to Google's privacy policy, linked above. Together with Google Analytics, that is every third party this site contacts.

Where the site links somewhere else, that destination has its own policy and this one stops at the boundary.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version is posted here with a fresh date at the top.
